RIA reported a Bombardier Artemis II reconnaissance aircraft, converted from a
business jet, conducted a patrol along Russia’s border lasting about 5½ hours.
The plane departed Mihail Kogălniceanu air base in southeastern Romania at about
09:47 Moscow time, flew a wide arc toward Kaliningrad Oblast, circled the
oblast, proceeded along the border between the Baltic states and Russia, then
returned near Kaliningrad before heading back to Romania. RIA said the
aircraft’s maneuvers near the Russian border ran from 11:50 to 17:20 Moscow
time. The jet is frequently used for radar reconnaissance around Kaliningrad and
over the Black Sea along Crimea and southern Russia.
