Marvell (MRVL.O) has agreed to acquire data‑center optics maker Lumentum Holdings in an all‑stock transaction valuing the deal at $115 bln enterprise value. Post‑closing, Marvell shareholders will own 67% of the combined company. By equity value this would be the largest deal this year and among the biggest in tech history (excluding the SpaceX‑xAI transaction). The deal signals AI-driven M&A momentum across chipmakers, specialist tech suppliers, data‑center operators and utilities.

At its 2026 Q3 results briefing Chunguang Group said materials for AI compute, PV storage and new energy vehicles saw large growth in the first nine months of 2026 and selling prices have risen. In AIDC the company’s core advantage is ultra‑low‑power materials; AIDC power products’ efficiency has risen to 98.5%, a gain the company attributes partly to its magnetic material properties. The power business is currently small; the company expects operating performance to improve in 2027 as scale expands and market certifications progress. Mid‑ to high‑end magnetic powder remains in short supply and available capacity is being prioritized for new energy, AI compute and energy storage demand.
