CHINA foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, at a Nov. 3 regular briefing, said rapid technological change must benefit humanity and cited Xi Jinping’s 2015 call to build a community of shared future in cyberspace as China’s approach to internet development and governance. She said internet development should be people-centered—enhancing human capabilities, expanding choice, affirming human value and improving welfare—and must not make people subservient to technology or allow technology to deepen development disparities.

Jilin said inbound tourist arrivals rose 39% YoY in the first three quarters of 2026. Over the past two years inbound tourism has trended higher, with Northeast Asia supplying over 60% of visitors; arrivals from Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia have surged after visa‑free measures and restoration of direct flights. The province issued a 2026–2028 three‑year action plan to expand capacity and upgrade inbound tourism to attract more overseas visitors.
