Nov. 3, 2026 — China foreign minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Myanmar’s
minister for planning, investment and foreign economic relations. Wang said
Beijing and Naypyidaw will accelerate construction of the China–Myanmar
community of shared destiny agreed after the June Xi–Min Aung Hlaing meeting.
China backs Myanmar’s political reconciliation and the new government’s efforts
to stabilise the situation and revive the economy, and says it will remain a
reliable strategic partner. Both sides agreed to coordinate development and
security, steadily advance key projects on the China‑Myanmar Economic Corridor,
and deepen energy and resources cooperation. China urged stronger action against
online gambling and telecom fraud and asked Myanmar to take concrete measures to
protect Chinese personnel, institutions and projects and to prevent disorder in
Myawaddy from reigniting.
