UK minister for AI Kanishka Narayan warned on Tuesday a serious cyber security
incident is "very likely" in the near future and said UK public bodies and
private firms are not adequately prepared. He cited increasing AI model
capabilities and rising external threats. UK cyber chief Richard Horne earlier
warned of a "wilful blindness" among businesses and supply chains to threats
from Russia and Iran. Several European supermarkets suffered a suspected cyber
attack on Monday that affected multiple UK firms; France saw a similar incident
last month.
