Former US President Barack Obama said US voters "sent a clear message" and urged
Democrats to "roll up their sleeves" and work harder. He said the results
reflected outstanding candidates nationwide, including some previously viewed as
long shots, who share common values and a commitment to public service. Obama
thanked election officials and volunteers and noted the administration has two
years remaining, calling on Democrats to pursue achievable change, prevent
further deterioration and lay groundwork for the future.
