On Nov. 3, as U.S. midterm voting continued, Trump said if Democrats make gains and win control of Congress he may use presidential vetoes to force bipartisan deals, saying "historically, you only need to veto for a few months and then they come to you and say, 'We have to make a deal.'" The remarks suggest White House–Congress confrontation could intensify if Democrats win majorities in both chambers. Trump also said he has campaigned for Republican candidates nationwide in recent weeks and believes his efforts helped blunt a potential Democratic "blue wave."
