At an earnings briefing, Hugui Industry said its planned 300mm wafer capacity of
1.2 million wafers/month is progressing smoothly and will be completed by
year-end, with production to be brought online progressively. Its 300mm SOI unit
remains in customer qualification, capacity ramp and volume expansion. 300mm SOI
products target silicon photonics, RF and high-voltage applications, with
silicon photonics showing the fastest uptake. SOI wafers remain a small share of
the global silicon materials industry but are indispensable in certain end
markets.
