A Democratic sweep of both chambers in the US midterms sparked a rally in South Korean battery names. LG Energy Solution rose more than 4%, Samsung SDI jumped over 10% and SK Innovation gained more than 2%. Battery-materials stocks POSCO Holdings and LG Chem each advanced over 2%. Investors cited expectations that Democrats will favour stronger climate and EV-supportive policies. The KOSPI erased earlier losses to trade higher, with strength in battery makers offsetting weakness in chip stocks.
