Premier Li Qiang said China will play a larger role in global intellectual
property governance and will continue to support the World Intellectual Property
Organization. He said China will constructively engage in WIPO-led modernization
of global IP services and in discussions on artificial intelligence and other
frontier technologies, and will advocate updating and improving international IP
rules. China offered to expand WIPO-backed capacity building for Global South
countries, share experience and contribute public goods under Belt and Road
cooperation to broaden IP benefits. Li asked WIPO to continue supporting China’s
IP development and to provide more cooperation platforms and higher-quality
services for Chinese IP users.
