South Korea's Financial Services Commission said the government has approved a
cornerstone investor system that will allow institutional investors who commit
to lock shares for at least six months to receive pre-IPO allocations. The rules
take effect Nov. 13 and will be implemented alongside amendments to the Capital
Markets Act. FSC said introducing stable, longer-term institutional buyers
before pricing should boost IPO confidence and reduce post-listing selling
pressure.
