September Bank of Japan minutes show policy board increasingly concerned about
inflation risks, a factor that may strengthen market bets on another rate hike
before year-end. Several board members said consumer inflation is increasingly
likely to accelerate from early autumn; cost pressures are passing through to
consumer goods, and more food and beverage items are scheduled for price rises
this year than usual. The BOJ raised its policy rate to 1.25% at the meeting.
OIS markets price roughly an 80% probability of a December hike.
