SEBI has relaxed KYC rules for overseas individual investors from FATF‑compliant jurisdictions, permitting remote digital account onboarding without travel to India. The revisions take effect Dec 3 and apply to persons of Indian origin who are not Indian nationals and to foreign nationals. Foreign nationals seeking access via the Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) route will remain governed by SEBI’s existing FPI framework.
