Amazon has launched a text-based shopping feature via Alexa that lets users search and compare products, track promotions and price changes, and allow "Alexa for Shopping" to complete purchases. The feature is being rolled out to a limited set of invited U.S. users and will expand over the coming weeks. The move follows Amazon's recent blocking of Meta's AI shopping agent Muse from its e‑commerce platform; in March Amazon won a court order barring Perplexity's shopping agent Comet from the platform, but an appeals court overturned that injunction in August. Related litigation remains pending.
