On Nov 6, the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress passed the Procuratorate Public‑Interest Litigation Law of the People’s Republic of China; it takes effect Jan. 1, 2027. The law comprises six chapters and 53 articles covering general provisions, jurisdiction, case filing and investigation, instituting lawsuits, trial and enforcement. It defines the scope of administrative and civil public‑interest cases, sets out the content and procedures for procuratorial public‑interest litigation recommendations, and clarifies coordination with other laws.
