The Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Securities Information Co. have revised the ChiNext index methodology to progressively lift the single-constituent weight cap to 15%. Under the new rule, at each periodic rebalance, if the largest constituent's actual weight immediately before the rebalance exceeds 14.5%, the exchange will add 0.5 percentage point to that actual weight and round up; that value will set the adjusted single-stock cap. During the transition the cap and the weight-adjustment factor may only be lowered, not raised, until the largest constituent's actual weight is 14.5% or below, at which point the 15% cap is achieved. The change takes effect at the regular rebalance on Dec. 14, 2026.
