Al Jazeera reported Iran struck Qatar and five other states today — Oman,
Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and the UAE — and claimed it hit US military targets in
those countries; the governments have not formally confirmed the claims. Qatar's
foreign ministry called the strike a blatant violation of its sovereignty and
international law and said Iran should bear legal responsibility for the
aggression and its consequences. Oman earlier summoned Iran's ambassador to
protest.
