A report claiming major Chinese polysilicon producers held a closed-door meeting
in Chengdu to discuss output cuts and price support was circulating online and
drove futures and related stocks sharply higher.
Affected contracts surged to limit-up, while shares of Tongwei and Daqo New
Energy jumped intraday. However, an industry source from one of the companies
involved said the report is false, and pricing agencies noted that spot quotes
from major producers remain unchanged, with overall trading sentiment still
weak. (The Paper)
