Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized shared principles with Spain as a
response to rising global disorder during an official visit by Spanish Prime
Minister Pedro Sánchez, following mutual criticism by both sides of US-Israeli
strikes on Iran and calls for peace.
“The international order is crumbling into disarray,” Xi said on Tuesday in
Beijing. He added that China and Spain are “nations of principle and integrity,”
urging both sides to “enhance communication, consolidate mutual trust, and
cooperate closely to resist any regression toward the law of the jungle.”
