Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company reported a 58% y/y rise in Q1 net
income to NT$572.48 billion, beating NT$543.32 billion estimates and marking a
fourth straight record quarter, driven by strong AI chip demand. Revenue reached
NT$1.134 trillion, above NT$1.127 trillion forecasts and up 35% y/y. Advanced
chips (≤7nm) accounted for 74% of wafer revenue, with 3nm chips contributing
25%. Demand from customers such as Apple, Nvidia, and AMD remained robust
despite supply chain concerns linked to Middle East tensions.
