Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. priced its $5 billion Hong Kong share placement at HK$628.20, the bottom of its marketed range and a 7% discount to the prior close. The deal, Hong Kong’s largest this year, drew orders from over 150 investors. Proceeds will fund global expansion, R&D and working capital. A Macquarie strategist said some investors viewed the raise as opportunistic given CATL’s strong balance sheet.
