US President Donald Trump said he will discuss the Iran war with Xi Jinping at a planned May 14-15 summit in Beijing, while downplaying bilateral tensions. Trump said Xi has been “very respectful” and that China has not challenged the US, despite its reliance on Iranian oil. The conflict has disrupted flows through the Strait of Hormuz and prompted US sanctions on Chinese refiners. China has yet to confirm the summit dates.
