The US Energy Information Administration will begin publishing quarterly reports
on global strategic petroleum reserves and oil and LNG flows through shipping
choke points starting Wednesday. The new datasets are intended to provide
insight into how the war in Iran has disrupted energy supplies and altered
oil-market assumptions. EIA Administrator Tristan Abbey said the timing of
resumed flows through the Strait of Hormuz and Middle East output recovery
remain key factors in the agency’s price forecasts through year-end.
