ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet said strong AI demand means semiconductors will remain a “supply-limited market” for an extended period, while sporadic chip-supply bottlenecks are still likely as the company ramps up capacity. Fouquet said ASML is developing a new packaging tool to expand future capabilities in that segment and expects first product data for next-generation High-NA technology on both logic and DRAM products later this year. He also said he discussed Elon Musk’s planned Terafab project and described Musk as “very serious.” Fouquet added that Europe’s AI Act should be reformed or removed to avoid “simplistic” rules constraining the technology supply chain, and said restrictions on selling chip-making tools to China should remain a “political decision” applied consistently.
