EU governments on Wednesday approved legislation to remove import tariffs on a range of U.S. goods, an EU insider said, seeking to head off TRUMP's threat of higher tariffs on EU cars and other products; under a framework agreed last July at Turnberry the EU agreed to lift tariffs on U.S. industrial goods and grant U.S. farm and seafood market access while accepting U.S. plans for 15% tariffs on most EU goods, but the EU had not implemented its commitments ten months later, prompting TRUMP to say he would impose 'much higher' tariffs on EU goods if commitments were not met by July 4.
