Axios reported on the 26th that Michael Needham, senior aide to U.S. Secretary of State Rubio and director of State Department policy planning, has been named deputy assistant to the president for national security affairs, succeeding Robert Gabriel; WHITE HOUSE chief of staff Susie Wiles announced Gabriel's departure on the 20th of this month. Needham was Rubio's chief of staff from 2018 and joined the Trump administration; Rubio currently also serves as assistant to the president for national security affairs.
