U.S. natural gas futures extended gains, up more than 3% intraday after an EIA report showed storage increases slightly below expectations.

The WMO said in a report that global warming is likely to exceed 1.5°C within the next five years, temporarily breaching the Paris Agreement's 2015 threshold. Compiled by the UK Met Office and released Thursday, the report says global average temperatures will remain at or near record highs through the end of the decade and assigns an 86% probability that at least one year between 2026 and 2030 will surpass 2024 to become the hottest on record, with 2027 projected as a likely record-breaking year.
