China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Office and six other departments issued a notice to promote industrial culture, protect industrial heritage and develop industrial tourism. They encourage capable industrial firms to plan visitor spaces and routes and expand on-site viewing, hands-on experiences and digital simulation. The notice calls for practical tourist facilities — explanatory signage, cultural retail, sanitary dining, parking and vehicle charging — and for better integration of industrial tourism sites with urban public transport, including transfer hubs, tourist shuttle services and parking. It also supports eligible localities in improving inbound-tourist services such as multilingual guides and departure tax-refund mechanisms.
