At its 2025 annual meeting Vanke said it completed 31 large asset transactions across office, retail, apartment and hotel sectors, signing a total of 11.3 bln yuan. The company said it exited its ice-and-snow business in 2025 and, with partner CITIC Jinshi, set up a housing-rental fund to acquire the Xiamen Boyu Yuan'er–Haiwan Community project in a 2.6 bln yuan deal, marking a pre-REITs breakthrough in long-term rental apartments.

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) said on the 28th (local) it will begin removing remaining spent fuel from the Unit 2 spent fuel pool at Fukushima Daiichi in early next month. The operation is expected to take more than two years and TEPCO said it will proceed cautiously. Units 1–3 suffered core meltdowns after the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami, producing about 880 tonnes of highly radioactive core debris; removal of that debris is viewed as the biggest challenge in decommissioning Fukushima Daiichi.
