May 30, Baotou — A pilot demonstration for hydrogen-powered two-wheelers
launched, putting 1,000 Northern Rare Earth-developed "Xixiao Hydrogen"
rare-earth hydrogen scooters into public, municipal and convenience-service
operation. The scooters use a self-developed rare-earth solid-state
hydrogen-storage alloy with low-pressure solid-state hydrogen storage and
include an intelligent monitoring platform that tracks pressure, temperature and
other safety metrics in real time. Northern Rare Earth plans phased, batch
rollouts to reach a cumulative 10,000 demonstration vehicles.
