China launched a satellite internet technology test satellite on May 31 at 02:07
from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center aboard a Long March 2D rocket; the
satellite reached its designated orbit and the mission was declared successful.
The satellite will test direct-to-device mobile broadband and space-to-ground
network integration. The launch was the 646th flight of the Long March series of
carrier rockets.
