Israel Defense Forces said over the past week it struck and destroyed three Hamas weapons storage sites in the Gaza Strip, which held explosives, rifles, sniper rifles and other military equipment. One site contained about 10 pickup trucks used by Hamas for military purposes.

China's National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) said it is continuing a nationwide 2026 campaign targeting illegal activity in the medical-insurance drug sector and, from May 14, 2026, has conducted spot inspections of designated retail pharmacies for improper use of medical insurance funds. The NHSA released four representative cases uncovered in the inspections to reinforce deterrence and compliance.

At the Shangri-La Dialogue (May 29-31 in Singapore), UK Defence Secretary John Healey said the UK will work with the United States and Australia under the trilateral security partnership to jointly develop new weapons for unmanned submersibles. The UK will allocate £150m (about $200m) to the project. The announcement builds on the 2021 AUKUS pact, under which the US and UK agreed to help Australia build nuclear-powered submarines—a move that has prompted regional concern; the IAEA warned it could set a dangerous precedent and trigger a chain reaction.
