Egypt's Foreign Ministry said on May 31 it strongly condemned Israel's
escalation of military operations in Lebanon, calling it a "blatant aggression"
that violates international law and the UN Charter. The ministry reaffirmed
support for Lebanon's sovereignty, institutions and territorial integrity,
warned that continued expansion of Israeli operations risks further escalation,
and urged the UN Security Council and influential international actors to
urgently and decisively act to halt the offensive.
