Tmall Supermarket has launched in Hong Kong, offering next-day delivery and an
initial assortment of more than 80,000 SKUs. Taobao said the launch was one of
its Hong Kong initiatives during this year’s 618 sales and signals accelerated
overseas expansion. The platform plans to boost Hong Kong pick-up points by
about 40% from roughly 1,200 by year-end and will introduce unmanned pick-up
points and self-service collection.
