Iran deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on state TV that only Iran
and Oman have the right to "exercise sovereignty" in the Strait of Hormuz and
that Iran has implemented a new "traffic and navigation control" procedure in
the waterway coordinated with Oman. He said Tehran has urged Oman not to yield
to US threats after Trump warned he would "bomb" Oman if it did not "act like
other countries," Al Jazeera reported.
