Chengdu municipal party committee and government issued an opinion to speed construction of a national advanced manufacturing base, prioritizing forward-looking industries. The plan calls for an incubation and cultivation programme, improved proactive project discovery and selection mechanisms, and accelerated deployment in fusion energy, brain–computer interfaces (BCI), quantum technologies, intelligent sensing, embodied intelligence, 6G, biomanufacturing, cell and gene therapy, flying vehicles and advanced materials. Chengdu aims to establish a pilot zone for future industries to capture strategic development advantages and build a new technology hub.
