South African petrol prices are set to hit a record this month after the
government removed temporary relief measures intended to shield consumers from
fuel-price rises linked to the Iran war. The Ministry of Mineral Resources and
Energy said retail price for 95-octane petrol in Gauteng will rise to 28.06 rand
per litre on June 3 from 26.63 rand per litre last month, about 1.73 dlr per
litre.
