On June 2, Japan finalized the overall FY2026 supplementary budget, setting general account spending at ¥3.1135 trillion, to be financed entirely through issuance of deficit-covering government bonds. China Rare Earth Group said on June 1 that Party Secretary and Chairman Liu Leiyun met at the group's headquarters with China Salt Lake Industrial Group Party Secretary and Chairman Xue Fei and his delegation to discuss cooperation on rare-earth new materials R&D and applications. Liu said he hopes the sides use the talks to focus on key technologies including rare-earth magnesium structural materials and short-process preparation, and to advance joint R&D and project planning. Xue said he expects to deepen cooperation on new materials R&D, application scenario exploration and joint applications for priority projects.
