Beijing, June 2 — Vice President Han Zheng met UK Foreign Secretary Cooper in
Beijing. Han said President Xi and Prime Minister Starmer agreed in January to
develop a long-term, stable comprehensive strategic partnership and urged closer
strategic communication to consolidate bilateral momentum, expand economic and
people-to-people ties, and pursue multilateralism and global governance reform
to boost stability and predictability. Cooper said the UK and China share broad
common interests and cooperation potential in trade and investment, AI, green
development and climate response, and the UK is willing to work with China to
implement leaders' consensus through constructive dialogue and cooperation.
