June 2 (Tue) — Hong Kong close: Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed up 640.14 pts (+2.52%) at 26,038.32; Hang Seng Tech Index closed up 234.36 pts (+4.72%) at 5,199.28; Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) closed up 255.10 pts (+3.00%) at 8,762.97; Red-chip index closed up 40.95 pts (+0.92%) at 4,468.37.

The BOT governor said the key policy rate will remain unchanged unless conditions change.

The State Council issued the Plan for Accelerating Agricultural and Rural Modernization ("15th Five-Year"). It directs deeper implementation of a seed-industry revitalization campaign, including precise germplasm identification, gene mining and targeted improvement, and development of a commercialized breeding system. The plan calls for tiered cultivation of national seed-industry flagship firms and accelerated selection of breakthrough varieties. It endorses steady reform of the new aquaculture-variety approval system, construction of national breeding and seed-production bases, stricter protection of seed-industry IP and tougher enforcement against counterfeiting and trademark infringement, and promotion of industrial-scale application of biological breeding.
