June 2 — China Nuclear Power Investment Holdings, a CNNC subsidiary, reported
Xudabao nuclear power Unit 3 has completed hot-state performance testing,
clearing the way for nuclear fuel loading and subsequent grid connection. The
Xudabao project plans six 1,000 MW-class PWR units built in phases, with total
installed capacity above 7.6 GW and total investment of 140 bln yuan. At full
build-out the project is expected to supply about 54 bln kWh annually, save
roughly 19.2 mln tonnes of standard coal and reduce CO2 emissions by about 56.7
mln tonnes, supporting Liaoning’s development of an integrated
wind-solar-thermal-nuclear-storage energy base.
