China's State Council issued the 15th Five-Year Plan for Accelerating Agricultural and Rural Modernization, defining plan-period objectives, priority tasks and policy measures to expedite agricultural and rural modernization and linking the push to advancement of Chinese-style modernization.

Airlines including Air China said fuel surcharges on mainland China passenger tickets sold from 0000 on June 5 will be reduced. New rates: 80 yuan per sector for routes up to and including 800 km, 150 yuan per sector for routes over 800 km. Infants are exempt; children, veterans disabled in service and public security police disabled on duty will be charged half the surcharge. The move lowers current levels by 10 yuan on routes ≤800 km and by 20 yuan on routes >800 km.

June 2, at Computex Taipei Intel CEO Chen Liwu said CPU demand is increasing while supply is constrained; over the past four weeks multiple company CEOs have called requesting more CPUs, which he called an opportunity for Intel. He added Intel has made significant progress in its wafer foundry business and is engaging many potential customers.
