On June 2, CENTCOM said US forces repelled multiple ballistic missiles and
one-way attack drones launched by Iran and carried out a "self-defense" strike
on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island. CENTCOM said Iran
fired several ballistic missiles at neighboring states but none hit intended
targets: two missiles aimed at Kuwait failed to reach target areas or
disintegrated in flight, and three missiles aimed at Bahrain were intercepted by
US and Bahraini air defenses. Earlier, CENTCOM forces shot down three
Iran-launched one-way attack drones that were heading toward commercial vessels
in regional waters. No US personnel were injured. CENTCOM said forces will
remain on heightened alert and ready to deter further Iranian aggression during
the current ceasefire.
