Phison CEO Pan Jiancheng said the expanding global AI user base and rising usage
frequency will materially boost demand for DRAM and NAND flash, with larger AI
models requiring significantly more capacity. Heavy enterprise GPU purchases
generate data that further propels storage demand. He warned that while major
suppliers are adding capacity, new output is falling short of demand growth,
leaving supply tightness unlikely to ease in the near term and predicting
storage shortages will be worse in 2027 than this year.
