As semi-solid batteries enter small-batch vehicle validation and solid-state batteries approach mass production, a materials supply gap is emerging. Oxide solid electrolytes are viewed as among the most commercializable core materials: applicable to current solid–liquid hybrid cells to improve safety and electrochemical performance, and able to be compounded with polymers into composite solid electrolytes for solid-state systems.
