Speaking to CNN, US President Trump called a maritime blockade of Iranian ports
the strongest lever, saying its impact “may be greater than bombing” and that
under the current sea blockade no ship can pass unless the US permits. Trump
said Iran will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He added that, “as
of now,” Tehran has agreed that once hostilities end it will coordinate with US
authorities to permit American access to recover buried nuclear material, while
warning Iranian officials have “changed their minds several times” and saying
action is expected “in the near future.”
