China Automobile Dealers Association data show average daily used-car
transactions nationwide were 71,100 vehicles for May 25-31, down 3.93%
week-on-week from May 18-24. A two-week uptrend ended as retail purchase
momentum slowed; some dealers paused bulk restocking and month-end consumer
caution rose, weighing on daily volumes and putting short-term market recovery
under pressure. Six major regional markets mostly contracted week-on-week. North
China and Southwest posted slight growth; Northeast, East China, Northwest and
Central-South saw varying degrees of decline. City-level performance within
regions was markedly divergent. Continued monitoring of demand-recovery pace is
needed.
