U.S. natural gas futures rose 5% as limited storage builds and expectations of warmer weather extended gains, putting contracts on track for their highest close since February.

China’s Foreign Ministry said it expects Germany to adhere to the One-China principle after reports that German MPs visited Taiwan in May. Spokeswoman Mao Ning said One-China is international consensus and the political basis of Sino-German ties, urged Berlin not to use the Taiwan issue to interfere in China’s internal affairs, and warned that crossing China’s red line on Taiwan would exact a price.

Night session opened: China’s main futures contracts were mostly lower. Fuel oil led declines, down nearly 3%; Shanghai crude (SC) and styrene (EB) fell more than 2%; low-sulfur fuel oil (LU), PTA, LPG, Shanghai tin and bottle-grade PET dropped about 2%. On the upside, Shanghai silver gained over 1%, while Shanghai gold and coking coal rose roughly 1%.
