Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel posted on social media on the 4th responding
to new U.S. measures. He said the U.S. president had issued fresh threats and
that the U.S. Treasury had added additional Cuban leaders, organizations and
companies to what he called an illegal sanctions list, measures he described as
aimed at tightening the blockade and harming the Cuban people. Díaz-Canel vowed
the actions would be met by Cuba’s determination to prepare for the worst and
resist what he termed an imperialist offensive.
