A-shares opened lower. ChiNext Index and Shenzhen Composite Index briefly fell
over 1% at the open, rallied intraday then reversed to close lower while the
Shanghai Composite continued to trade higher. The Beijing Stock Exchange 50
Index jumped as much as 7% early with all constituents rising. At midday the
Shanghai Composite was up 0.43%, Shenzhen Composite down 0.24% and ChiNext down
0.82%; combined turnover on both bourses exceeded 1.8 trillion yuan. More than
3,700 stocks advanced. Sector movers: optical optoelectronics and 6G concept
stocks led gains, gaming and retail also rose; power retreated after earlier
gains, coal lagged and lab-grown diamond names were among the biggest decliners.
